This box uses the heating element from a household hair drier, a small
blower and a commercially available temperature controller to blow
heated air on a microscope objective. By proper placement of a small
gauge thermocouple the temperature of the objective is
regulated. Both the set point and measured temperatures are displayed
to the operator.
By enclosing the microscope in a box (clear plastic, black
poster board, ect), a stable environment can be maintained indefinitely.
