Error: "symbol(s) not found for architecture x86_64"

I can't open or run the sample demo for Life

There are two different sample apps, one for Windows OS and one for Mac OS.

Windows
  • The Windows OS app is at life-demos/windows-demo/Life.exe in the demos folder on the assignments page.
  • On Windows 8 you may get a message about being unable to run an application from an untrusted source. You need to then click the "More info" link and then the "Run Anyway" button.
Mac
  • The Mac OS app is at life-demos/mac-demo/life-sample.app in the demos folder on the assignments page.
  • If you get something complaining about being unable to run a problem from an untrusted source, right-click on the file and then select open. It'll ask you if you really want to open it, click open again and then it should run for you.
