Basic Statistical Tests

Tuesday: This week we devote the entire week to Chapter 4: Basic Statistical Tests. For Thursday complete reading of Chapter 4 (pp. 121-end) and apply the tests to the data vectors in the CHILDES data provided in Week 3.

Thursday: Discussion of reading and problems.

Homework due on Tuesday of Week 6: Read two sections of Chapter 5 of the textbook -- Section 5.1.1 on principal components analysis and section 5.2.1 on classification and regression trees. Do Exercise 1 on p. 191 and then apply CART to the CHILDES dative dataframe developed in class. How do the results differ from those for the adult data?
