Along with Jan Hawkins, joined Center Director Karen Sheingold and Bank Street President Richard R. Ruopp in 1981 to establish the first research center devoted to empirical studies on developmental, psychological and social issues in learning with microcomputers. Served as Research Scientist, Senior Research Scientist, and Associate Director for the last several years. Best known studies from this era include research on the cognitive effects and prerequisites of learning computer programming in the elementary to high school years.
