Science Citation Index Practice Questions

1. Professor (in own school) published the following article: article title, journal reference.
   1. Find the articles published in 19____ (whatever makes sense) which cite this article. Print out the bibliographic information (or copy it) for all these articles.
   2. (If using the CD version, STN or the Web of Science), ask students to locate a related article.
      Ex. One of the articles found in (a) is by _________ (you enter an author that you have previously determined cited the original article).
      Locate and print out the related reference written by ____________ (enter the author of a related reference here).
2. Select the best (most relevant) bibliographic reference found in another search (e.g. Chemical Abstracts).
   1. Search in SCI from the date of this article through the present for articles which cite this reference
   2. Print out the references that cite your article since it was originally published.
