I joined the Lunambotics Project supervised by Dr. Alejandro R. Reivich and Dr. Jesus Savage Carmona, to develop autonomous Rovers
for the NASA CC Program. At first focused on lunar mining, the latter objective was to design
and build a Rover that could autonomously navigate, find, collect and return samples, without the aid of Earth
based technologies.
We used LiDAR, stereoscopic vision and RSSI, for obstacle avoidance, sample/landmark detection and location estimation.
