About Me>
I was born in Xochimilco, a borough quite different from the Mexico City stereotype. As a UNESCO World
Heritage Site, we preserve the same canals that the Aztecs navigated, and also many colonial traditions
of our ancestors. Masked men dancing in the streets, open banquets, and fireworks are commonplace.
Wherever I go, I like to transmit the vibrant and colorful vibe of my hometown. A beautiful place far
from the center of the city, Xochimilco has its disadvantages: daily roundtrips to the University may
take up to 4 hours.
In addition to the usual difficulties in a developing country, such as economic
difficulties, both personal and in research projects, my STEM career was complicated to pursue.
However, I never let the obstacles stop me. Throughout the years I forged my own principle:
knowledge has no limits, it is us who decide how far we want to go.
