2014, Premier Award, New Zealand Qualifications Authority. Monetary value: 30,000 NZD. Awarded to students who obtained the top 5-10 highest overall results in the New Zealand Scholarship examinations.

Work Experience

2022 - Present, Stanford University. Sculpture studio shop monitor. (Various responsilibities, mostly helping students learn to use the wood shop and metal shops, e.g. welding.)

2019 - Present, Stanford University. Teaching Assistant. Varying responsibilities from teaching sections to grading exams.

2020 - 2022, Stanford University. Syllabus designer and course instructor (for the Stanford Summer Engineering Academy). Designed and taught virtual and in-person courses on linear algebra. The courses focused on inquiry based learning, collaboration, and how to read maths.

2018 - 2019, Auckland Bioengineering Institute. Research assistant.

2016 - 2019, University of Auckland. Teaching Assistant. I typically tutored around 50 university students in undergraduate mathematics courses each semester, in courses such as MATHS 332 - Real Analysis and MATHS 340 - Real and Complex Calculus. I also did assignment marking each semester.

2015 - 2017, Crimson Consulting. Tutor. I tutored high school students in Scholarship and NCEA Level 3 Calculus, Physics, Statistics, and Japanese.

2014 - 2015, Salt Air Cafe. I waited, cooked, cleaned, and served at the till. Specialised in frozen yoghurt.

Service

2022 - Present, TA Mentoring. Helping students who are TAing for the first time.

2020 - Present, Peer mentoring. Mentor in the Stanford maths department peer mentoring programme.

2020 - Present, Directed Reading Programme mentor. Mentor undergraduate students in reading projects.

2023, Veteran TA panel. Took part in a panel to discuss the experience of being a TA in the maths department at Stanford.

2022 - 2023, Student Topology Seminar. Organiser of the Stanford Student Topology Seminar.

2022, Grad school research panel. Took part in a panel to discuss grad school experiences and research.

2020 - 2022, Kiddie colloquium. Organiser of the Kiddie colloquium.

2019, Grad school application panel. Organised an information session for undergrads at the University of Auckland to learn about the graduate school application process (for graduate programmes in Australia, UK, and USA).

2016, Maths Craft Festival. Volunteered to explain mathematical concepts through crafts and inspire the public.
