Southwest Road Trip /Red Pass - a one-way very narrow unpaved road to Titus Canyon. The road steadily climbs to the summit of the pass at 4200ft. In June 1905 a small man with a dark goatee scrawled the following messag in a remote drainage: "Hurry on! I'm going down to investigate the spring. - Titus". Young Titus was never heard from again. His name endures at Titus Canyon, one of the most scenic destinations in northern Death Valley. The canyon walls rise about 500ft and less than 15ft apart in places. Past the shadowy gorge, the road emrges into the brilliant light of Death Valley.
