The role of the Transfer Officer
The Transfer Officer (appointed by the Center Director) plays a key role
by seeing to it that all research and development efforts that can
directly or indirectly benefit the disabled are given full consideration
for transfer. You will be particularly concerned with any products,
processes, or findings that can be codified and replicated outside the
Center.
You are expected to be knowledgeable about the transfer process,
including the forms and the steps that need to be taken. You will need to
be current and informed about applicable laws and regulations.
Specifically, you are expected to support the work of the research staff
and to expedite their efforts to implement transfer of the products and
techniques through a number of activities.
The activities usually involve consultation with Investigators (I), the
Center Director (D), and key persons in cooperating organizations (C).
