U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry visited the Cui lab on March 8, 2022, to learn about our work on next-generation batteries and green energy technologies. He was given a tour of the lab by Prof. Cui, director of the Precourt Institute for Energy, and students of the Cui group, with whom he discussed the importance of energy research for solving the world’s most critical problems. The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has led to a major shortage of N95 respirators, which protect healthcare professionals and the public who may come into contact with the virus. It is necessary to determine the conditions that would allow the safe reuse respirators and personal protection in this crisis. Our collaboration with Professor Steven Chu and the team in 4C Air Inc. has lead to the finding of promising methods to disinfect the N95-level respirators while keeping the filtration efficiency. view
