What
is the course? - Perspectives in Assistive Technology is a
Winter Quarter course at Stanford that explores issues surrounding the design,
development, and use of assistive technology for people with disabilities and
seniors. More information can be found on the course
website.
Invitation to attend - You are invited to attend
all class lectures. They will be held in the
Main Quad, Building 370, Classroom 370 on
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 4:15 to 5:30pm and are free and open
to the public.

Why Assistive Technology is

Abstract: Elna will
discuss the senior population boom, senior living options, how seniors live,
and how assistive technology can help.
Biosketch: Elna Tymes
is a former chair of Mountain Views Senior Advisory Task Force, the
current chair of the Housing Action Group of the Santa Clara Country Aging
Services Collaborative, and a member of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group's
Housing Group. She received a BA from Stanford University in 1961, an MBA from
Pepperdine University, and an MA from the University of Southern
California.
