Maps:

The Lathrop Library is an undergraduate library that houses the East Asia Library and many classrooms. The building was formerly occupied by the Graduate School of Business, has been recently renovated, is named for Jane Lathrop Stanford ( co-founder of the university with her husband, Leland), and is located at the corner of Lasuen Mall and Serra Mall, adjacent to Memorial Auditorium and the Oval.

Classroom 282 has a capacity of 150 people in a flexible and accessible environment, including large mobile monitors for group work on laptops, wall-mounted 80-inch, 3D-capable multi-input displays, a mobile presentation and annotation lectern, and a synthetic acoustics system that supports both class-wide large group discussions and small group work.

Disabled Parking

Individuals with state-issued disability parking placards (from any state) can park free in any marked space on campus. Disabled parking spaces are located behind the Littlefield Center on Lasuen Street, on the Oval, or at the end of Memorial Way, near the Knight Building. Parking - Persons with Disabilities provides more information.

Parking

If you plan to drive to campus to attend a class session, please be aware that parking regulations are enforced until 4:00pm on weekdays. (Parking on the Oval is restricted until 6:00pm.) The Lathrop Library Vicinity Parking Map shows parking options and their relationship to the classroom. A parking citation is $45.

In the interest of safety, physical pay stations at visitor lots have been taken offline to avoid the touching of shared surfaces that cannot be adequately disinfected throughout the day.

Visitors may pay to park by the hour. Payments have transitioned to a contactless process through the ParkMobile app. The two closest ParkMobile Zones are 7282 Littlefield and 7213 Memorial. Here is information regarding Visitor Parking on campus:

There should be open parking spaces along Lasuen St and Roth Way and in the Museum Way lots. After parking, make your way along Lasuen St. through the Littlefield Center Building arch. Lathrop Library is ahead on the left. Take the stairs to the second floor and enter the building on the right or proceed to Serra Mall, turn left, and roll down the ramp.

Building and Classroom Access

Lathrop Library is wheelchair-accessible. A ramp off Serra Mall near the corner of Lasuen Mall or the pathway from Memorial Way between Lathrop and Memorial Auditorium provides accessible routes to the courtyard level where step-free entrances are located. Power-operated doors are located on both the east and west sides of the building. Two elevators service all floors. This map illustrates the location of the ramp.

To access the classroom, take an elevator to the 2nd floor, turn left, proceed down the hall, and turn left. The classroom is straight ahead. The floor plan shows the location of the elevators and restrooms and indicates the route.

Wheelchair accessible men's and women's restrooms are located on the north and south sides of Lathrop Library. On the 1st floor, restrooms are located just past the elevators on the right side (south). Additional restrooms are located at the end of the hall, on the right (north) inside the Academic Computing Station (near a water fountain and refill station). On the 2nd floor, wheelchair-accessible restrooms are located just outside the entrance to the classroom.

On-campus Access

The Office of Accessible Education operates a free Disability Golf Cart Service, DisGo, for all members of the Stanford community. It is open to anyone with a disability or medical condition that makes it difficult to travel about campus. DisGo currently maintains two 4-seat golf carts and one wheelchair accessible cart.
