I am an international master (IM) of chess. My peak rating was in 2018, when I was rated 2408 FIDE and ranked 70th in the US. My coach was grandmaster Ben Finegold. I was lucky enough to grow up in St. Louis, Missouri and play at the wonderful Saint Louis Chess Club. I don't get to play that much these days, but I was pretty active from 2011 to 2018.

Here are two articles about tournaments I played in in high school. Here is a video of me playing when I was 16.

Playing in the eighth round of the 2018 Chicago Open against Andrey Stukopin.

Aside from math and chess, I enjoy biking, reading, listening to podcasts, and talking about politics. I also love the musical Hamilton. Here is a letter I wrote to the editor of the New York Times. Some of my favorite writers are Karl Ove Knausgaard, Paul Krugman, Leo Tolstoy, and Jesmyn Ward.
