With the kind permission of the author, Michael Messollen, Macaulay 2 incorporates Singular-Libfac, version 0.3.2, a free library of routines which provides factorization of multivariate polynomials over finite fields and computation of the minimal associated primes of ideals via characteristic sets. It is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License, and is available at ftp://www.mathematik.uni-kl.de/pub/Math/Singular/Libfac.
