This project was originally commissioned as an installation at the O.K Center for Contemporary Art
in Linz, Austria, by the O.K Center and Ars Electronica 99. Due to time and budget constraints,
the original timeline was limited to only 47 historical events. 

The recreation of Spike as a website allows two important changes. It allows the timeline to grow
over time, and it allows people to participate in its growth by sending additions to the timeline. 
I hope that you will be willing to send something. 

These additions can be in any form: short notes, personal anecdotes, papers, or links. I'll add them 
wherever they seem to fit best, but everything will be added.
