My first name is Chae Young, and I'm from Jeonju, South Korea.
I am a fourth-year Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Stanford, co-advised by Professors Zerina Kapetanovic and Sara Achour. I build physical AI systems that combine low-power sensing, on-device intelligence, and cloud computing to understand and respond to the real world. This summer, I interned with Microsoft Research's Future Experiences (FX) group, where I worked on Project Solara, an agent-first device platform. Before Stanford, I received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Yale, where I worked with Professor Lin Zhong on energy-efficient computing. I also worked with Apple's Siri Text-to-Speech Modeling Team in the summer of 2020 and 2021. Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis, snowboarding, going to solid core, and occasionally fishing. I recently started training for triathlons.
