Margaretha A— Traudt (Margaret, Maggie)2, born May 19, 1859 in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, the daughter of Frederick A— Traudt1 and Lizetta A— (Hausmann) Traudt.

In June, 1880 she was single and living at home with her parents' family at 425 Springfield Avenue, Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. She was stated to be of Newark prior to her marrage.

Margaret married, about 1883, John A— Wenisch. He was born June 26, 1857 in Manhattan, New York, the son of — Wenisch and — (—) Wenisch.

  2. Florence Matilda Wenisch, born June 7, 1886 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.

The Wenisches lived together in Brooklyn from about 1888-1908. John was engaged in the provision business with his brother W. F. Wenisch for several years, and later conducted a place of his own. He retired from business a few years before 1908 on account of ill health. He was a thirty-second degree mason.

In 1900 John, Margaret, Hattie, Florence and Eugene lived at 831 Willoughby Avenue, Brooklyn.

John A. Wenisch died March 6, 1908, aged 50, at his residence at 831 Willoughby Avenue, Brooklyn. He was buried in the Traudt family section of Woodland Cemetery in Newark, New Jersey. His grave marker bears the following inscription:

In 1910 Margaret, Florence and Eugene lived at 221 Bainbridge Street, Brooklyn.

In 1912, when the engagement of her daughter Florence was announced, Margaret lived at 221 Bainbridge Street, Brooklyn.

In 1915 Margaret and Eugene were living with her son-in-law and daughter, George and Florence Hoch, on Church Street, North Hempstead, Nassau County, New York.

In 1930 Margaret and Eugene were living with her son-in-law and daughter, George and Florence Hoch, at 15 East 16th Street, Brooklyn.

In 1935 and 1940 Margaret lived with her son-in-law and daughter, George and Florence Hoch, at 15 East 16th Street, Brooklyn.

Margaret lived at 15 Buckingham Road in 1944, when her sister Laura Metz died. She lived at 15 East 15th Street, Brooklyn, New York, in 1946. She died Sunday, September 22, 1946. A service was held at the Fairchild Chapel, 86 Lefferts Place, Brooklyn, on Wednesday, September 25, 1946, 8:30 P.M. She was buried in the Traudt family section of Woodland Cemetery in Newark, New Jersey. Her grave marker bears the following inscription:

In connection with the Traudt section her sister Anna wrote later (June 29, 1948) that the cemetery wanted to level the family's raised graves, but had been prevented by their sister Laura, who predeceased her in 1944. But between Margaret's death and June, 1948, the cemetery leveled them anyway, leaving only the footstones.
