About: Atlassian—Scaling Innovation
What
This case looks at innovation practices within a rapidly expanding organization. In particular, we examine ShipIt Days hosted at Atlassian, a Silicon Valley technology company focused on developing products that help teams collaborate more effectively. ShipIt Days were designed as a means to spawn innovative projects within the context of a large organization.
Why
Atlassian's ShipIt experience will help students gain an understanding of how large organizations continue to innovate, despite external pressures to focus only on projects that contribute to quarterly profits.
