After receiving her undergraduate degree in the College of Social Studies from Wesleyan University, Johanna earned a Masters in Theological Studies at Harvard Divinity School. At Stanford, Johanna intends to study narratives of chosenness among religious minorities in the Americas, and to explore how these discourses reflect and respond to political realities. Her other research interests include the intersection of race and religion, the psychology of belief, and existential anthropology.
