Leslie graduated from Pomona College in 2007 with a B.A. in Environmental Analysis and subsequently received her M.A. in East Asian Studies from Harvard University. Her past work with the terminally ill has influenced her decision to study end-of-life and hospice care while at Stanford. Specifically, she will explore the ways that terminally ill patients in China receive emotional support during the dying process, both at home and in institutional settings. Her other research interests include Chinese citizens' interactions with North Korean refugees and China's food safety crisis.
