I am a PhD student in the Archaeology track with research interests that include archaeology of identity, community archaeology, Mediterranean archaeology, and heritage ethics. My research takes place at the former Greek city and Roman colony of Butrint, in southern Albania. Using archaeological material, ethnography, and textual evidence, I hope to address such topics as the past and present identities and relationships of the local communities and "colonizers" in this geographical region, as well as the ethics and challenges in managing an archaeological site with such a convoluted history in a post-communist and post-isolationist setting. I hold an MA in Cultural Heritage Studies from University College London and a BA in Art History and Archaeology from the American University of Rome.
