Stanford Biostores is your biotechnology store on campus. In order to purchase items there you must provide Hoa Nguyen in the front office your full name and a valid PTA. She will then email them to give you purchasing privileges.
Building Access Card ▼
Business hours for the Beckman Center are Monday through Friday from 7am to 7pm. You will need a building access card during after hours and on the weekend. The security office provides the access card. Do not share your card with anyone in the department even if they are in your lab. You are responsible for your card. Please see Yong or Todd to fill out the form.
Conference Rooms ▼
You can reserve any of the three conference rooms in our department as long as the time slot is available. Please check with the front office staff to reserve your room. The conference room numbers are B383, B381 and B302. Room B383 is the only conference room with a phone jack. All conference rooms are equipped with a projector. Make sure you turn the projector off once you are done using the room, as the bulbs are extremely expensive. Please be responsible and clean up after yourself and throw away any garbage.

To reserve the Munzer Auditorium check the schedule and make sure you read their "Usage Policy". Contact Jane Kroeten and be sure to include time and date requested, event title, sponsoring department, contact name and phone number.
Courier Service (e.g., FedEx and UPS) ▼
There are two deliveries made by both FedEx and UPS. Expedited deliveries are made no later than 10:00am. Standard deliveries are made later in the afternoon. There are other courier and vendor deliveries that are made throughout the day.

Either Rich or a staff employee in the front office will sign for all incoming courier packages. Most packages will be on the table in the hallway outside the stockroom. It is your responsibility to check the table for any deliveries you may have.

If you’re expecting a package and it has not been delivered please get the tracking number from the shipper. Go to the package delivery companies website and track the package. Typically you can get the status of the package and the name of the signee if it was delivered.

To ship packages via FedEx please see your lab’s Administrative Associate. Each lab is assigned their own account number. Place all outgoing packages on the same table where deliveries are made. FedEx will pick up packages on our floor between 2:30-2:45pm. If you miss the pick up time on our floor there is also a FedEx pick up box in front of the Alway building. The pick up time in front of the Alway building is 4:45pm.

The department doesn't have a UPS account therefore they will not pick up packages on our floor. You can schedule a pick up for a fee by going to their website or calling 1-800-PICK-UPS. There is also a UPS drop box in front of the MSOB building (the parking lot side).
Dry Ice Shipping ▼
Your lab manager should be certified to ship non-hazardous materials on dry ice. If your lab manager is out for the day or not certified please see Todd, Yong or Rich. They are certified to ship dry ice and can help you.

Please have your package ready to ship before asking for assistance.

Pack your non-hazardous material on dry ice. (Directions for packing dry ice with non-hazardous materials.)

Fill out the Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods form. (Directions on how to fill out the Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods form.)

PLEASE NOTE: There are organizational changes to the ICAO/IATA packing instructions that all dangerous goods shippers must follow.

For auditing purposes the shipper has to be the individual that is certified to ship dry ice. Please let the addressee know that the shipper is NOT you and give them the name of the certified shipper.

If you would like to be dry ice certified register for the following course through Axess:
DOT: Shipping Biological Goods or Dry Ice (EHS-PROG-2700)
