This laptop is operating under Kernel version [Kernel version number which you are using]
Basic Installation of Fedora:
Partitioned 80GB drive to allow small 7GB patition for dual boot. Left unformatted and Fedora 2 installed with no problem. Fedora 3 did not work with the NVIDIA card- known problem- probably resolved by now. But also heard that cannot backup partition with Ghost in Fedora 3, so happy to stick with Fedora 2 (build 521).
Setting up additional features for [Linux Distribution]
Most difficult was to get wireless to work. Used sourceforge ipw2200 drivers, but had to work on dealing with encryption problems from by SBC master at home. Eventually helped by Linux sites at Clemson and help from Dell and various others. This was not easy and took 10 days. Best advice to turn off encrytion and deal with that after you make a connection. Used iwconfig, and iwlist wlan0 scanning, dmesg and other tools a lot. Was very difficult to get card to be identified consistently at start-up.
Installation of GLUT libraries for C++ program development using NVIDIA card in flight simulation. I seemed to install two versions of GLUT and then the NVIDIA to get it to run.
Unresolved issues
Power management not ideal but seems standard.
Configuration Files
/etc/fstab for NTFS; /etc/modules.conf; /etc/modprobe.con and /etc/rc.conf (adding in modprobe ipw2200);

Dell workstations and laptops have replaced the Silicon Graphics machines to run our flight simulator. Simulations run 10-50x faster at 30% of the price.
