Sumant Sharma is a Ph.D. candidate in the Space Rendezvous Lab at Stanford University. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering with Highest Honor. His current research focus is to design and implement a robust and fast vision-based navigation/perception system using monocular computer vision. Target applications of this vision system include on-orbit servicing of defunct satellites where range measurements or any a-priori relative motion information is unavailable.
