Interactive use of the Carnegie mural
This mural was used to help culminate a decade's worth of work by the Carnegie Young People Inititative (CYPI) dedicated towards increasing civic engagement by youth through direct empowerment, grassroots organization-buliding, and the improvement of "participation infrastructure" in government.
Use
1. The mural was created to complement the CYPI's final report on their work. The mural-designing process was highly interactive, as members of the initiative--including academics, activists, and youth--were able to engage the map as a work-in-progess. This helped ultimately democratize the final product, but with the input of those who knew the project best.
