I am currently heading the International Outreach Program (IOP) at Stanford University. IOP is a new program under the auspices of Stanford’s International Initiative, and supports the extension and adaptation of Stanford educational content and teaching programs for collaborative partnerships with tertiary institutions in developing countries. IOP’s approach is closely aligned with The Stanford Challenge, which seeks to make the university a partner in designing solutions to interdisciplinary global challenges.

I joined Stanford University in 1990, and have worked as a Curriculum Designer with the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE), and as Associate Director of Learning Design with the Stanford Learning Laboratory and the Stanford Center for Innovations in Learning (SCIL). I took a break from academia from 1996 - 1997 and joined the Apple Classrooms of Tomorrow Program (ACOT) at the Apple Research Labs in Cupertino, California.
