Note: Participants F53164 and F58412 are believed to both descend from Valentine Bachman, but the y-chromosomes do not match. Most likely there has been an adoption in the line of F53164, since the y-chromosome in this lines does match other Easton-area, Richterswil-origin Bachmans.
* Two possible genealogies have been proposed. One suggests that Samuel was the son of Abraham Bachman (b. 1744, youngest son of Johann Georg Bachmann). Another possible genealogy on World Connect suggests that Samuel is the son of David Bachman (b. either 1757 or 1774), who in turn was the son of Christian Bachman (b. 1727, son of Johann George Bachman). Neither of these appear to have been proven and there are other possibilities, as Johann Georg had seven sons, six of which are potential ancestors of Valentine Bachman..
