| Mazinga - the highest point on the Quill at 600M (1968ft) - an extinct volcano, is the most perfectly symmetrical in the world. The crater is 984ft wide and approx. the same depth. Inside the crater the lush tropical rain forest is the home of birds, butterflies, racer red-bellied snakes, and land crabs. The trail up to the crater rim is well defined. The way down to the crater could be dangerous when wet and could be strenous. The trail up to Mazinga is only marked by red ribbons tied to trees as guides and is very strenous walk. Carrying at least 3 litters of water is recommended. |
