| Sunday - Death Valley Oct 2009 / Chukar Partridge. Some 52,000 Chukars were imported from India by the California Dept. of Fish & Game back in 1932. Those placed in the high deserts adapted readily to their new habitat and flourished. They are found everywhere in the park where there is year around water. So if you're ever in need of water in DV, I say follow the Chukar! |
