Southwest Road Trip /This is the second campsite since we started the trip on Sept 21. We left Page hoping to get to Escalante, Utah and then we found Johnson Canyon Road, which was on the AAA map but was not labeled as an official road. We took it anyway and it was an amazing drive - endless views of ranches with the backdrop of the redrock hills Utah is known for. Ten miles of it is paved, once we reached the outer eastern part of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, it turned into a dirt road for the whole 45 miles. We knew we wouldn't make it to Escalante at the speed we were going, so we decided to look for a place to camp, and came across a random road off to the side. It looked like it hadn't been driven on for quite sometime. We took the road and headed east - until we reached an area with a 360 degree views with a clear view of Bryce Canyon. We setup our camp and enjoyed the views and the solitude. The area was so quite, our ears were ringing. It was truly the most beautiful place we ever camped.
