| Lalibela / Dad heading over to Bet Giyorgis, or St. George, is a monolithic rock church cut out of Lalibela's red volcanic tuff. This historic place of worship, now largely covered with lichen, was excavated in the form of a cross. One of the town's 12 churches, built by King Lalibela in the late 12th century, it is 43ft in height. |
