Contributions of Curricula:
A Historical Look at How We Teach Addition

For my class project in Research in Mathematics Education, Autumn 2006, I analyzed first grade curriculum books from 1897 to 2004. Specifically, I compared their philosophies, how these textbooks taught addition, and the sequence of addition topics.
