Table of Confirmed StaCS Clusters

NameJ2000 Coordinates Richness (4)<z> Number of Redshifts Notes
RA (1)Dec. (1)cluster (2) field (3)
STACS J0104.8+043016.20194.5040.8 0.400610Very robust detection, appears to be a poor cluster at this stage.
STACS J0823.4+0338125.86543.6417.3 0.26047This candidate is above the detection threshold over a large area, with an estimated redshift of z = 0.4. The z=0.26 redshifts lie to the SE of the candidate's indicated position, and may represent a foreground cluster or group. Further study required.
STACS J1057.2-0340164.3248-3.6820.3 0.54838

Notes:

  1. Right ascension and declination are both in decimal degrees.
  2. Number of redshifts within a 2000 km/s range.
  3. Total known redshifts in field.
  4. "Richness" is defined in the search algorithm by the normalization of the model cluster galaxy luminosity function. The richness reported here is the filter's best estimate of the cluster's total R-band luminosity in units of L-star.

For further data on these clusters, you can e-mail either Keith Thompson or Ben Mathiesen.

Coming Attractions:

We just received HET data for a fourth cluster, with estimated redshift z=0.7.

Images of these clusters will be made available before long.
