The googURL bookmarklet lifts the current URL from the active browser window and searches for it on Google. If you are reading the New York Times or Wall Street Journal and get paywalled, you can simply click the bookmarklet and navigate back to the article "from Google", which circumvents the paywalls of, for example, the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.
googURL works in Chrome/Firefox, and is simple enough that I have a hard time imagining platforms where it wouldn't work. If you have suggestions on improvements, drop me a line at the email address above.
