Conclusion
Future Plans
- Make the process automated. Automating the printing
process entails creating and sending the postscript file directly
from the web user-interface. This automation involves invoking the Resize
command and passing the CMYK values to the print command. Automation could
not take place because of security issues. Future advances in web interfacing
would more than likely allow processes to run on the server side without
threat of server abuse by unfriendly clients.Further Automation for the
entire photo album would involve linking and executing all process from
a series of web pages. Please check the following web-site to see the proposed
user-interface mechanism: projform2.html.
- Improving printer Calibration. Time constraints
disallowed the perfection of printer calibration as it relates to the halftoning
scheme. Future advances would show improvements in printer output and might
include these aspects:
- Using look-up tables to map from the XYZ values to the printer CMY
values, and to map from the CMY values to new CMY values for a particular
halftone scheme.
- Performing operations to utilize the black values in a CMYK space --
currently the K values is set to zero.
- Adding specifications
for more printers, halftone schemes, and papers
