Project 2 Process:
In this project, I wanted there to be a sense of travel and flow throughout my project. It is titled "Music Through the Night" as the only things that are constant in my project are the music (which is actually a live recording on the guitar from my roommate) and the feeling of night. I wanted to experiment with various different sound and fading effects to make the piece feel more cohesive.
The musician playing the guitar starts in the forest, as he or she is accompanied by the sounds of a flowing river and the sounds of wind chimes. About 15 seconds into the music, footsteps through leaves can be heard, and eventually it stops and transitions into the second part of the piece, which is intended to be at the musician's house. From the house the musician is driven to the airport, as the sound of a car door opening and closing as well as the engine starting can be heard in the background. At the climax of the song, the speaker arrives at the airport and begins rolling his or her suitcase to an airplane. "Music Through the Night" concludes when this plane eventually takes off and the musician begins their next endeavor.
