God, dog, and dot are three of the simplest words in the English language, but they are completely unrelated from each other---other than the fact that they all "revolve" around an "o", as it is the second letter in each word. This very simple concept shows that three things--an important figure, a common animal, and a single tap of a pen--all have something in common. This animation's goal is to show viewers that there are ideas that even the most discrete concepts can have in common. Other metaphors, such as a cow and a cat in the form of both text and image--were considered but ultimately dropped as the author wanted to have three things that were simple, but were unique from each other.
The final image of the animation shows the author's metaphor by using both text and symbols. The text is revolving around the Earth, with different color ovals around the "dog", "god", and "dot". Because this is the only image in the animation that has all three words and all three symbols at once, it stands out and was selected as the final "frames" for these reasons.
