Game Theory and Communication: Prospects and Syntheses
May 28 and 29, 2010
This conference aims to explore the state of the art of game-theoretic models in the study of communication and language. The importance of the interplay between participants in modeling the dynamics of communication has long been appreciated. Only recently, however, have the specific models of game theory been applied to this problem. Recent developments in fields as diverse as evolutionary biology and multi-agent systems have shed new light on both the sophistication of game-theoretic models and the breadth of phenomena they can address. The goal of this conference is to consolidate perspectives and encourage communication on this topic across disciplinary lines.

Confirmed invited speakers include:
  • Rohit Parikh
  • Gerhard Jäger
  • Prashant Parikh

  • The workshop will take place on the 28th and 29th of May, 2010.

This event is sponsored by Cognition and Language: Claire and John Radway Research Workshop and will be hosted by the Center for the Study of Language and Information.
