Assigned Entropy and Specific Volume (sv)

Table of Contents

Chemical equilibrium composition and properties are calculated for assigned entropy and each assigned total reactant specific volume or density.   CEAgui also requires a final temperature estimate for the first point (default 3800K).

The program will try to converge with only the possible gaseous products and then check on possible condensed products.   Sometimes the program cannot converge with only gases because the temperature is driven to a very low value during the attempt to reach convergence.   This may be remedied by "inserting" one or two possible condensed products with the Insert dataset.   This helps the program converge with both the gaseous and condensed products.

Note that the Problem and Reactant datasets must be completed before bringing up the Insert screen.

UNITS
Density units are either g/cc or kg/m**3.   Specific volume is the inverse of density and thus the units are cc/g or m**3/kg.

SPECIFIC VOLUME / DENSITY
Up to 16 specific volume or density values may be assigned.
Use the ENTER, RETURN, or TAB key or click on the next empty cell after each table entry.

ASSIGNED ENTROPY
The total reactant assigned entropy value s must be divided by the universal gas constant R.   The s/R units are (g-mol)K /(g of mixture).   The default estimated temperature 3800K may be changed.
