Stanford on the Simmer
by Anonymous

The campus has been hot of late:
Its populace has not felt great
Decked out in such a sweaty state
By temperatures unseen
For many years, if seen at all,
And all its members wished a fall
In mercury back toward the ball
Where it of old had been.

The fog came in: the torture ceased,
Which had till recently increased.
It must have been five days, at least,
It lasted: oh, the pain!
Who would have thought, that after such
A soggy spring, without a touch
Of sun, we soon would wish so much
To see some rain again?
