When I passed Meyer, they were selling books, For less than what they'd paid, incredibly. I stopped: it's not a thing one overlooks. They hawked the paperbacks for but a dollar, And hard-bound volumes sold for only two. I found these bargain prices hard to swaller, Though naturally, I purchased quite a few. I still was puzzled why they'd sell their stock: To solve this mystery I resolved to try. I pondered long the motive for this shock, And now I think I've found the reason why.
