Kudos to Marleen Madou and helpers for organizing yet another fabulous staff picnic. This year's event, catered by 'Portelli's Per Te,' offered a Mexican buffet, as well as great latin music, including the Macarena! With all the upheaval of implementing a new Web-Cat, this picnic was a well deserved event for all. Thank you Marleen and all participants for giving us this break.

The Law School is on semesters instead of quarters so we're a bit askew from the rest of you; we're already amid a flurry of students. We've started our regular hours and they are:

The ITSS Instructional Program is offering hands-on Windows95 training classes during fall quarter. The courses are described in the Training Opportunities insert of Stanford Report on Wednesday, September 11th. While the curriculum is similar in all the sessions, some are geared for experienced computer users and others for those with less experience. The cost of classes has been raised to $160, but ITSS is offering a "coupon" to cover the difference between the course fee and the $140 STAP reimbursement. (See page 3 of the Training Opportunities insert.) Registration for these classes should be done through Prism Training Registration.
