On Friday, January 26th, the Systems Department will be closed for regular business. A vendor will be working in our area reconfiguring our cubicle panels. This will not impact any access to on-line resources that are housed in Systems, and most Systems staff will be available on-line that day. Some staff will be working with the vendor, but they will not be answering the telephones.
In case of emergencies, circulation should follow their standard evening and weekend troubleshooting procedures. Technical Services staff should send email to Janet McCarthy at jmmccart@sulmail (she will be monitoring hourly).
In the event that there is a network emergency, or that the above mechanisms don't work, send a staff person to Systems to find Jane Adams, who will be on-site that day.
On the following Monday, the phones in Systems will be somewhat unstable, except for the regular Systems central number (3-9724). Please use that number to contact staff on Monday.
We're sorry for any inconvenience, and hope that life in Systems will be back to normal very quickly.

This Friday, January 19, the LASU board members together with some members of the Community Service Committee will drive over to Green Oaks Academy to deliver the books and games we collected over the Holiday season. The principal and the teachers are very excited about the donation. We, the LASU board, would like to extend our warmest thanks to all of you for your generous donations. The books collected represent a very good spread in grade level material and language (the Spanish language books are sorely needed). The games are sure to liven up any rainy day activity.
LASU's Community Service Committee, lead by Jennie Nicolayev will continue the effort to support the East Palo Alto School District. We welcome all library personnel who would like to join in that effort. Thank you all for your support.
