The campus being hot of late,
Its denizens have not felt great, Reduced to such a sweaty state By temperatures unseen In many years, if seen at all, And wish the mercury would fall A little way back toward the ball Where it of old had been. The fog came in: the torture ceased, Which had till recently increased. It must have been five days, at least, It lasted: oh, the pain! Who would have thought, that after such A soggy spring, with scarce a touch Of sun, we soon would wish so much To see it damp again? |
