Pro Tempore, and Other Stories is
a short story collection by Mary Tappan Wright, published as a chapbook by Fleabonnet Press in
December, 2007. The stories in this collection were originally published in Scribner’s Magazine between 1896 and 1909: “Cunliffe” in v. 20, no. 3, September 1896; “The Key of the Fields” in v. 23, no. 2, February 1898; “A Day Together” in v. 29, no. 1, January 1901; “A Sacred Concert” in v. 34, no. 1, July 1903; “Pro Tempore” in v. 39, no. 6, June 1906; and “Asphodel” in v. 46, no. 4, October 1909. As far as is known, none of these stories have ever been hitherto reprinted. This internet edition comprises the entire contents of the chapbook, and reproduces with miniscule editorial intervention the texts of the original magazine publications. The pieces in this collection by Mary Tappan Wright are in the public domain; all other material is copyrighted by the editor.
