The Postman Always Rings Twice. 1934.
The plot of Cora Papadakis and her drifter lover Frank Chambers to murder Cora's husband Nick for the insurance money. The title alludes to the author's experience with rejection letters
regarding the manuscript rather than to anything in the story itself. Adapted to film in 1943 (as Ossessione, in Italian), 1946 and 1981.
