Considered one of the foremost novelists of the twentieth century. Winner of the Nobel Prize

The spiritual quest of Eugene Henderson, a man who travels to Africa and becomes a figure of
veneration there due to his supposed ability to bring rain. The protagonist is an amusing parody of
Ernest Hemingway, or
rather, the stereotype he portrayed himself as.
