Original Idea Behind the Scenes
The scenes in my video depict what time seems like to me. Slowly but with rhythm, it drips, it ticks, and it fades. It is purely magnificent just to feel the motion of the time. When looking at the watch and examine closely how time passes by, I consider it to be comfortable and relaxing. Therefore, I decided to choose “time” as the theme and compared it to water drops, since they both “drip” in a comforting and peaceful way. However, at the same time, they both create a sense of tension, either about time flying by or about water drifting away.
In the scene of the water dripping, I accompanied the words “It drips… It drops…” with the movement of the words flowing down, yet with different speeds. With that, I tried to demonstrate the variety of changes a simple water drop can make. The final scene, “One, two, three, four. Three drops of water” was inspired by Anne Carson’s Essay on What I Think About Most, since I really enjoy the concept of making errors and hope to combine the meaning of it.
Hope you’d enjoy.
