Appeared to be one of the most common things one would do, talking seems to be something too regular for anyone to even notice its presence. However, when taking time to think about it, it’s something fascinating in terms of how much the meaning beyond is and that the understanding of the meaning differs from person to person. It’s also so important to us, humans, since it makes up a large part of our social life, and we spend so much non-sleeping time experiencing the “products” of talking. Therefore, I think it’s of great importance to get to know this daily and regular concept more through talking. That is how I chose the topic of the poem and the thinking process I went through while I was recording the poem.

It is also interesting to me about how it varies of what we gain from the voice of people talking. We might consider a room of people talking to people next to them as “noise.” But is that it? I was sitting in a room before lecture with people chatting. It seemed to be loud and a little bit chaotic, yet it made me think about how natural it is for talking to happen. Fascinated by it, I recorded the background sound for nine minutes and cut off eight minutes to fit with the poem.
